Do I need previous experience to enroll?
No previous experience is required to get started. Rios Trade School provides technical and hands-on training from the fundamentals. Some programs may have specific requirements, and a student advisor will explain what applies to the program you choose.
What are the requirements to enroll?
Enrollment requirements may vary by program. Students generally must be at least 18 years old and provide a valid government-issued photo ID and recent proof of address. Some programs or options may require additional documentation or certifications. A student advisor will review the requirements with you before enrollment.
What programs are available in English?
Rios Trade School currently offers HVAC and Welding training in English. Schedules, program length, and availability vary by program.
How long are the programs?
The English HVAC program is 24 weeks. Welding programs range from 9 to 18 weeks depending on the process and schedule selected. A student advisor can help you compare the available options.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes. Payment plans are available for eligible programs. A student advisor will explain the payment options and conditions that apply to the program you choose. Rios Trade School does not participate in federal Title IV financial aid programs.
What certifications can I prepare for?
For HVAC, training includes preparation related to EPA 608 and A2L Low-GWP Refrigerant Safety. Certification testing, required materials, and related fees are handled separately from tuition.
Welding programs train students to work toward AWS standards. American Welding Society certification testing is arranged separately from the training program.
Is Rios Trade School authorized by the State of Indiana?
Yes. Rios Trade School is regulated by the Indiana Department of Workforce Development, Office for Career and Technical Schools (OCTS). Its HVAC and Welding programs hold Full Authorization from Indiana OCTS.

When are classes held?
HVAC classes are held Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:00 PM to 9:30 PM. Welding schedules depend on the program. The Weekday Intensive program meets Monday through Thursday from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM, while the other welding programs are offered on Saturday or Sunday from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
